Brackins Bujutsu has various curriculums to choose from. We do not believe that large “franchise style” martial art should be taught. There is no cookie cutter solution for training. Inline with our philosophy the classes follow a natural flow with the experience and the individual being the most important aspect of training. We believe that this is the most effective type of training possible in a structured environment. With this in mind techniques are taught in an order so that the student can build upon them from one lesson to another. During randori (freestyle training) the student is free to do what he/she wishes. Randori is an integral part of each training session.

The techniques taught in group classes and private classes are the same. The difference is that when you are training one-on-one with an instructor, he/she will give you immediate feedback regarding your technical execution since he/she knows precisely how it is supposed to feel. In general, private lessons can be scheduled at any time, day or night. Further, private classes will enable you to get the most amount of knowledge in the least amount of time. Also if you need more refinement after attending a group class then a private lesson is also suggested.

In a group setting you can learn techniques with fellow students. In a real fight, you will not be allowed to choose your opponent. In group classes, you will have the opportunity to practice your techniques on training partners of various body types and skills, and this will ensure your readiness for whatever comes your way. This setting will also allow you to train in multiple attacker situations.

In 1997, Daniel Brackins had numerous students from the military, police, and private security. The effectiveness of the techniques, regardless of the size of the opponent, was an essential component. Further the techniques utilized allow for a reduction in excessive force lawsuits while at the same time maximize the efficiency in restraining an individual. Individuals involved in this line of work have a greater chance of being involved in a physical altercation, and need effective and tested methods to survive.
